Herbes de Provence with Lavender.

Typically used in regional French cooking, this blend of herbes de provence is difficult to find.

Sometimes it will include bay and sage.

Seafood, tomato dishes, lamb and vegetables all benefit from a pinch.

Use dry herbs.

2 tablespoons thyme
1 tablespoon marjoram
2 teaspoons rosemary
2 teaspoons savory
1 teaspoon lavender flowers or leaves
1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds, slightly crushed or ¼ teaspoon ground fennel.

Mix Herbes de Provence together and store in cool, dark place.

Herbes de Provence enjoy the benefit of a touch of lavender.
